CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA)- – The provincial health office (PHO) here recently conducted advanced acupuncture training for health workers to integrate traditional and complementary medicine with modern healthcare practices.
The training, in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) and the Department of Health-Center for Health Development, was attended by health workers from the hospitals and Rural Health Units of the six towns here.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mila J. Villar, said the trainings provided by certified acupuncturist Ferdinand Dayro will enable health workers to give a more comprehensive care and effective treatment options to patients.
“Acupuncture is increasingly being integrated into primary health care systems worldwide as part of a comprehensive approach to patient care to help address various health issues by combining traditional Chinese medicine with modern medical practices,” Villar said.
Furthermore, Villar said continued investment in acupuncture training initiatives will further strengthen the province’s healthcare system and promote a holistic approach to patient health and well-being.
Meanwhile, the PHO Quirino Wellness Clinic RHU Maddela Wellness Clinic will be receiving the Gold Seal of Excellence Award for raising the profile of Traditional and Complementary Medicine not only in the province but in the whole country as well.
Also, RHU Saguday and RHU Nagtipunan will receive the Silver Seal of Excellence in the PITAHC Search for Traditional and Complementary Medicine Champion in Manila on July 27, 2024.
Villar thanked the provincial government headed by Gov. Dax Cua and Rep. Midy Cua for their continued support of the province’s health programs.
