July is National Ice Cream Month so be sure to go enjoy some ice cream while reading about America’s ice cream preferences. Hearing the tune of an ice cream truck can cause a great sense of nostalgia for most adults and usually causes them to swing by the grocery store and pick out their favorite flavor. A survey was taken by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Food Association which concluded that the majority of people prefer ice cream made from simple, natural ingredients.
72% of Americans agreed that a summer meal isn’t complete without being finished with a scoop of ice cream. While ice cream is an extremely classic dessert, the survey concluded that 56% of the US population and specifically 67% of Gen Z are willing to pay for more ice cream that is packaged in sustainable, eco-friendly materials. They are also interested in trying new ice cream flavors, as the survey says 80% of Gen Z, 81% of millennials, and 82% of Gen X love to try different flavors of ice cream.
Celebrate the end of National Ice Cream Month by enjoying your favorite flavor of ice cream or trying a new one!
