FAILED MEDIATION. THIS IS NEW AT FIVE TONIGHT. PATIENTS AND STAFF AT BOSTON’S BUSIEST HOSPITAL TAKING A RARE OPPORTUNITY TODAY TO SLOW DOWN AND RELAX. MASS GENERAL BRIGHAM HOSTED THE FIRST OF THREE POP UP CLINICS THIS FALL. EACH ONE OFFERS ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS FOR PAIN. THE DOCTORS TODAY INCLUDED REIKI, ACUPRESSURE, SOUND HEALING. FOR MANY PARTICIPANTS, IT WAS A CHANCE TO TRY SOMETHING THEY HADN’T DONE BEFORE. I FEEL LIKE I FEEL BETTER AFTERWARDS TOO, BUT IT WAS MORE ON THE SESSION ITSELF THAT I FELT REALLY RELAXING. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE BOTH AN EXPERIENCE AND THEN TO UNDERSTAND IN WHAT WAYS DOES THIS WORK FOR ME AND WHAT WHERE DO I THEN GET THIS IN A HOSPITAL? WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE SUCH AN EASY HEALING SPACE. SO HOW DO WE MAKE THIS MORE OF A REALITY IN ALL OF OUR HEALTHCARE SETTINGS? THE TREATMENTS ARE FREE AND ANYONE INTERESTED CAN WALK IN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. IT’S ALL PART OF A NEW CENTER FOR COMPREHENSIVE HEALING, FUNDED LAST YEAR BY THE SHA FOUNDATION. THE NEXT SESSION, BY THE WAY, IS ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AWAY. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21ST. AND IF YOU’D LIKE TO, YOU CAN
