Margot Ann Thornhill
February 1, 1942 – October 8, 2021
Fairway, Kansas – Margot Ann Thornhill, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend left our world on October 8, 2021, after a brief illness. Margot was a lifelong Kansas Citian. She graduated from University of Missouri Kansas City and earned her master’s degree from the University of Kansas. After graduation from UMKC, Margot was hired as the admissions director with Avila College. Following this she enjoyed a 25-year career as a hospital administrator, with then General Hospital and Truman Medical Center. Upon her retirement from TMC, she committed much of her time to our mother, providing companionship and later, care. Margot was a woman of great faith being a long-time parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a member for more than 25 years of the Regnum Christi Federation. She was a founding member of the Regnum Christi Kansas City section and served as a Director, Team Leader, and spiritual guide. She loved animals and was a very accomplished equestrian. Margot is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Agnes Thornhill. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Tom Thornhill (Nancy), Mary Ellen Dick (Robert), Mark Thornhill (Maria Donigan) and Jill Thornhill (Bill Dennis), many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be at 9:00 am on October 15th at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the funeral mass immediately following at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Lalmba Association (Lalmba | A Place Of Hope), University Health (Truman Medical Center) Charitable Foundation (Home – University Health Charitable Foundation (uhkcgiving.org), or Operation Breakthrough (Circle of Friendship | Operation Breakthrough).
