Garmin Runners Find Running More Miles is Healthier

Garmin tracked runners’ mileage, sleep, heart rates, and stress to prove that running more miles is better for your health. Garmin Connect is a health app that tracks and analyzes your fitness activities. To celebrate Global Running Day, runners tracked and logged their stats in an effort to answer the question: Will running more miles make you healthier?

Results revealed that those who ran up to 10 miles a week had a sleep score of 72/100 compared to those who ran 50 miles a week had a score of 75/100. Those who ran 10 miles a week have a higher Body Battery score (73) than those who ran 50 miles (83). Body Battery is a stat calculated by Garmin Connect that estimates how much energy your body has in one day. Runners who ran 10 miles had a 3-point lower stress level than those who didn’t run at all, but those who ran 50 miles had a 30% lower stress level than those who didn’t run. Even these few statistics demonstrate how beneficial running can be for your body.
