Rising dance-pop artist Hallie has made the RTÉ Recommends Playlist with each of her single releases to date.

Irish singer-songwriter Hallie has returned with new single ‘Circles’, a stunning electro-pop anthem along the lines of Charli XCX, CHVRCHES, Christine & the Queens and LAUREL.

‘Circles’ marks the return of award winning artist Hallie following her year-long music journey, having achieved the release of three singles in her belt and national airplay. The track is inspired by challenging relationships, especially those where maintaining firm boundaries are difficult. ‘Circles’ focuses on emotive, deep issues while bringing Hallie’s sound to an upbeat dance-pop track.

Hallie was diagnosed with inoperable end stage double jaw joint degenerative disease earlier this year, with no hope of replacements due to permanent mental health and chronic illnesses. Unfortunately, the creative will never be free of debilitating chronic pain which drastically affects her singing, but has chosen to continue nevertheless. Hallie hopes to remind others that they aren’t alone, determined to raise awareness of these conditions and permanently end the stigma surrounding them.

Hallie first emerged in early 2019 with debut single ‘Familiar Place’, earning critical acclaim and rotation slots on multiple national and international radio stations. 2021 single ‘Remedy’ followed on from 2020 effort ‘Waves’ – both of which paved the way for the discovery of her sound.

Hallie initially began writing poems and songs as a personal way to channel her life-long battle with depression, anxiety and chronic pain into a soothing release.

She graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Music (WIT) in 2015, after completing her first year in BIMM Dublin. Her music was kept private and personal for years, until Hallie won the first Golden Discs Golden Busker Competition 2019 & Best Original Song in the Guinness Singing & Swinging Awards. With her Golden Discs prize, she recorded her music professionally for the first time at The Orchard Recording Studio.

Hallie hopes to blaze a trail for fellow chronic pain and mental health patients, aiming to rewrite music industry norms and inspire others to follow their dreams at all costs.
